The Attachment Research Community
who are we?


The Attachment Research Community (ARC) is a charitable organisation set up in 2017 by virtual school heads, school leaders, psychologists, training organisations and academics, with a mission for ‘every school to be attachment and trauma aware by 2025’.

ARC’s purpose is to support all schools and education settings to be attachment and trauma aware in their practice for the benefit of all members of the learning community and particularly the most vulnerable, by bringing together, sharing and celebrating best practice.

Becoming an ARC member opens up professional and educational pathways within a membership platform with readily available resources, regional workshops, panel discussions and virtual events that allow members to network and support each other. As well as regional events, members will benefit from priority booking and discounted prices for ARC's annual conference, which, over previous years, has successfully hosted 2000+ delegates and showcased a list of renowned keynote speakers such as Paul Dix, Prof. Barry Carpenter, Dr. Janet Rose, Kim Goulding and Bessel van der Kolk.

The ARC Pathway

The ARC Pathway provides support for your development. It is not mandatory but gives formal, national recognition to key stages on your journey from ARC membership, to Bronze, Silver, Gold and Hub centre of excellence.
